Hochpustertal is ideal for hiking, Nordic Walking and walks – high Alpine paths and circuits in the middle of the majestic mountain summits included. En route it’s not just the breathtaking scenery which is enjoyable, stopping off for a rest and a bite to eat in one of the Alpine hut sis too.
If you like climbing or going on mountain tours, Sextental is a paradise. For mountain enthusiasts Sexten and its wonderful mountains offer an abundance of interesting climbing tours to the most beautiful summits. And with the "Dolomit Arena“ there is also a very high quality climbing hall available.
This is one of the versatile mountain bike areas in the Alps, with routes going in all directions and of all levels of difficulty, through shady spruce forests, on sunny Alpine plateaus, or high mountain paths and passes. Incidentally: for years the Königsstrecke has gone over 110 km of the South Tyrol Dolomiti Superbike (Start in Niederdorf), a large section also goes through Sexten.
For those who like a bit of diversity: in the Hochpustertal there are lots of activities on offer, and a chance to learn about the beautiful Dolomites, e. g. riding in a horse-drawn carriage into the wild and romantic Fischleintal, fun and relaxation for young and old in the outdoor pool or discovering the area around Sexten and on horse-back. Tennis, table tennis, Golf and Minigolf are other options.
Skiing and family holiday in Winter
The dreamy ski areas in the Hochpustertal provide the ideal conditions for skiers, snowboarders, deep-snow skiers and cross-country skiers: gentle for beginners, steep for the advanced, extreme for the pros, leisurely for families and fun for children. The Hochpustertal ski lift network (seven ski areas) with its 33 lifts, connects over 50 kilometres of pistes and numerous tours. The 70 km winter hiking paths area ideal for gentle sport, and the slope network of 200 km are something to be proud of!
Tobogganing, hiking and ski tours in the Sextner mountainscape
Whether you’re by yourself or part of a group, tobogganing is always good fun – especially since there are so many nice routes to choose from. Hiking through the magnificent mountainscape in the Hochpustertal is a pleasure, fresh air included. Lots of the routes in the Hochpustertal are suitable for quiet walks and short excursions. New snow is cleared from these routes through the season, keeping them in walkable condition.
You should really learn about snow-shoe hiking, this kind of exercise in the best mountain air is a wonderful natural experience. And ski tours are finding they have more and more fans - understandable when you take a look at the Hochpustertal and its Alpine winter landscape. Climbing up through the deep snow-covered mountainscape, enjoying the calm and the solitude, and as reward, a run through untouched powder snow. Additional activities in Sexten und Moos: ice-skating or curling, horse-drawn carriage ride, tennis, indoor swimming pool etc.
