80 three-thousand metre mountains and glistening glaciers surround Tauferer Ahrntal, the local valley for extreme mountain climber Hans Kammerlander.

In summer there are lots of options from your hotel in Steinhaus for sporting activities: canyoning, mountain biking and Nordic Walking along with the high altitude hikes, which you can get to via the Speikboden and mountain railways. The refuges provide a stop-off and the view to the mountains is phenomenal.

Prominent feature in Steinhaus: the themed paths

The path of contemplation of the holy Franciscans goes past three Reinbach- waterfalls, from Bad Winkel to the Franz and Klara chapel. The accompanying symbol of the route is „T“, the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet, „tau“. Walking time: in total around 2 hours. Half-day hike on good, partly steep forest paths.

The circuit around Mühlwalder storage lake, the „water and bike“ route, the path through the unspoilt Lappacher ridge and the circular route around Neves storage lake – high Alpine and particularly charming.
 
The nature adventure path brings you closer to the nature of Sand in Taufers. There are themes such as nature, fauna, flora, geology, mythology, myths and legends.
