TISENS near Meran
Palaces and castles, tradition and comfort
Tisens and the neighbouring village of Prissian are nicely described as ‘Burgendörfer’. Even in times past they were popular excursions, away from the main traffic routes. This is why some aristocratic residences were set up here and aristocrats spend their summers here – six palaces and castles are evidence of this time.
To date the style and sophistication of these villages filled with nooks and crannies remains. The holiday guest today can expect comfort in the friendly accommodation – such as the hotel in Tisens - and South Tyrol hospitality.
Tip: Tradition is very much still on offer in Tisens, for example at the annual chestnut day when the "Tisner Edelkastanie" are celebrated.
Relaxation during a holiday in South Tyrol
The spa in Meran is a wellbeing oasis as well as an architectural highlight. A section of the big park is exclusively reserved for spa guests, the rest is open to the public.
Tisens is the starting point for lots of hikes, tours and day trips. This means you can really take a deep breath and discover the beautiful landscape on foot, by bike or mountain bike.
For sporting activities there are tennis courts and a very nice Golf course in Lana.
The International Filzkunstwanderweg is of interest for those who are particularly interested in art and culture, while nature lovers will really get their money’s worth on the Vorbichl Adventure Path.
